I'm a fairly new player (~8 months or so on and off), and I've got a guild etiquette question, if you'll indulge me.
Just landed my second-ever 85 last night, and was immediately recruited to a guild. They proceeded to shower me with stuff: new gear, levelling mats, all sorts of good stuff. By my estimate, at least 4000-5000g worth of stuff at standing AH prices.
Here's the problem: I ran some heroics with them last night, and I honestly never want to run with them ever again. We wiped several times because of stupid mistakes (standing in fire, not killing healers, etc.), the general tone of guild chat is downright toxic (16-year-olds talking about all the vaginas they've explored, hitting on all the smexy laydeez, etc.), and they were so nasty to the random people we drew in PUGs that they may as well have been trolling. (They even kicked someone [who, I might add, was doing more DPS than most of us put together] just to fuck with them.)
I want out, but I feel guilty about essentially taking 5000g worth of free stuff and then bolting. I'm also in no financial position to pay them back, unless we're talking extremely long-term. (Like a 6-month period.)
Can I just leave? Do I owe them anything? What should I do?
